All Cameron and Elise Kellar ever wanted was a healthy baby and to expand their family. The two were high school sweethearts and married right out of high school much to disapproval of Elise’s family. But the Kellar family welcomed their new daughter in law into the family with open arms. Cameron on track for med school while Elise dreamed of staying home and being the lovely and devoted mother to the family they planned on having. However things didn’t come that easy to the Kellars. After years of trying to a child it was discovered that Elise would never be able to carry a child to full term. After wrestling with the decision and despite their fraying relationship, from the stress of trying to expand their family and Cameron’s residency, the two turned to adoption. It would be another year full of paperwork, interviews and mild disappointment before they welcomed their first child to the family, a son named Gabriel. The following year Dyllen joined the Kellar family.
Dyllen grew up in a world of privilege and luxury. As a child Dyllen got whatever she wanted, both her and Gabriel did. As strict as Elise wanted to be with her children she had waited so long to become a mother she found herself giving into nearly every one of their demands leaving Cameron to constantly be the bad cop setting the punishments as he saw fit. No one in the family bothered to notice as the children aged, the frayed relationship between Cameron and Elise grew.
When Dyllen was eleven her world was turned upside down by the announcement of her parents divorcing. Theit relationship had never recovered from the years of trying for a child, doctors' visits to find the root of the problem and the stress that came with adoption. They tried to make it work for the two children they brought into their lives but the strain grew to big to fix and it was decided divorce was the only option. Dyllen was devistated by the turn of events and the changes that came along with it. Elise was given full custody of Dyllen and Gabriel, whisking the children back to her family home in New York. For the next seven years Dyllen would only see her father during summer vacation and every other spring break.
New York was a hard adjustment for both Dyllen and Gabriel, to make the transition easier Elise gave into her childrens' various demands without the boundary lines once provided by Cameron.
For Dyllen that meant acting classes. She had already been enrolled in dance since she had been two but now in New York nearly everyone of her classmates in dance were also taking acting. She begged her mother to enroll her in a performing arts high school rather than the typical private school she had been attending all her life with her brother. She craved the lights of the stage and nothing was going to stop her from achiving her dream.
It was in 2000 that Dyllen got her big break; a new television show was holding a casting right next to the one Dyllen was at for a cereal commercial. She had been doing commericals for months, while the stage was her true passion her teachers and newly signed agent convinced her commericals would be a good way to get her face seen and noticed. Luckily for Dyllen as the day wrapped the tapes were scheduled to be transported back to the companies to make the final call hers accidently ended up in the pile for the television show. After two more auditions she was officially casted as Paris Gellar on the show Gilmore Girls. It took some convincing from her agent but Dyllen headed west for Hollywood leaving behind her dreams of dancing on stage professionally.
Dyllen spent the next seven years on the set of Gilmore Girls in a role that was originally supposed to have ended when the character of Rory left for college. But the show’s producers loved her portrayal of Paris so much that they reworked and rewrote season four allowing Paris to follow Rory to Yale and become her roommate and ultimately best friend. During her time on Gilmore Girls Dyllen dabbled in a few movies but she perfered the pace of television. Once the show ended in 2007 Dyllen was all set to return to New York and resume her goals of dancing and the stage but fate would have other ideas.
A new television show on ABC Family was casting a blond lead. The show, Greek, followed the lives of college students as they navigated the greek system at a fictional college. Dyllen wasn’t sure the show was for her but was persuaded to audition anyway. She nailed the audition and landed the role. The show would last four years ending in 2011.
In 2012 Dyllen became engaged to her boyfriend at the time, Matt Taylor. However as they were both actors getting deep into their own careers the relationship ended a year later, the distance surrounding their separate schedules too strong to overcome. The two have since lost contact, Dyllen diving head first into all her projects to keep her mind off it. In 2014 she joined the cast of a new ABC primetime television show, How to Get Away with Murder, and 2015 brought up the continued rumors of a possible Gilmore Girls movie being shopped around. It was later that year that Dyllen got the word that Netflix had acquired the rights to produce a new Gilmore Girls mini-series and she was asked to rejoin the cast as Paris Gellar once again. As 2016 rolled around Dyllen found herself balancing between her roles on HTGAWM and Gilmore Girls with the continued news of a possible reunion movie for Greek being made. Everything old is new again, at least professionally.
